About Us

Our Mission.

Soap Aid is a not-for-profit organisation committed to saving children’s lives through improved hygiene while positively impacting the environment.

Our humanitarian and environmental mission is made possible by our partnership with the accommodation industry. We reprocess and deliver recycled guest soap to disadvantaged communities in Australia and overseas.

Our impact partners work closely with local communities to provide vital hygiene education on the importance of handwashing with soap.

Together we aim to achieve lifesaving and sustainable improvements in global hygiene practices.

Founded in 2011, Soap Aid is a response to the large volumes of discarded hotel soap being thrown into local landfills each year. The environmental impact of this waste, combined with the growing crisis in childhood hygiene-related deaths, called for a local solution to the problem.

Soap Aid exists to transform waste soap into a life-saving product to help reduce preventable disease around the world and create meaningful and sustainable changes in the accommodation industry.

Soap Aid is an ATO endorsed DGR type 1 and Tax Concession Charity, governed by a board of professional volunteers.
